How to Take Your Thrifted Look from Day to Night

How to Take Your Thrifted Look from Day to Night

As millennials we try to stay on trend with the most recent styling, makeup and hair looks. We research who's hot and who's not and what our favorite bloggers are wearing. Who am I fooling, I do it all the time! But, if you're on a budget following these trends might be a little steep for you. To help you all out, I wanted to come up with a day to night thrifted attire to take you from your office to either a date night or girls night on the town. If you're budget friendly like me this might be great tips for you.

When it comes to going out with your friends or a hot date after work, people tend to run to the department stores to get a new blouse, or new heels and end up spending unnecessary money. In reality, everything you need might be in your closet!  Sometimes we don't have the time or energy to run home to change after work and living in a big city traffic makes it impossible. But to your surprise, with a few accessory changes and blouse switch ups you can change your work attire in under five minutes and make it on time for your meet up. Most of your looks can actually com from the thrift store. If you have coins to spare, try to sway towards getting one item from the mall and finding the other pieces from your closet.

The Day to Night look I chose was simple and professional but also edgy and chic.  The black skater skirt was purchased from H&M for $15 and I chose to pair it with some inexpensive pieces I found in my closet.

  • Skater Skirt - $15 - H&M
  • White Blouse $3 - Smryna Thrift Store
  • Necklace -$5 - local thrift store
  • Embellished Gold Purse -$12 - Southern Thrift Market
  • Banana Republic pumps (retail $120 ) $6.36
 Total cost $42

Total cost $42

  • Skater Skirt $15 H&M
  • Black Blouse $3 - Smyrna Thrift Store
  • Black Leather Jacket- $8 - Southern Thrift Market
  • Red belt -$3 - local thrift store
  • Shoes- $20- Ross
  • Red Purse- $5 -Southern Thrift Market
 Total Cost $54

Total Cost $54

Not only were both of my outfits simple and chic, they can easily be changed in a bathroom at work! All you would need to do is throw on a few earrings and change your lipstick to a deep red and you're out the door!
