Hi!

Just because I Thrift, that Doesn't Mean I'm Broke!

Just because I Thrift, that Doesn't Mean I'm Broke!

The biggest assumption about thrifting is "She has to be broke!"

That assumption is so annoying and so NOT TRUE! Just because I find items for little to nothing and I always mention it's thrifted, some people frown upon it. Crazy thing is, you would never know any of my clothing is thrifted unless I say otherwise. I recieve compliments all the time with every outfit I put on, and it's such a great feeling. Up until this day, about 60% of my closet is now thrifted. After moving from Florida, this thrifting hobby has became my life! HA! There are so many great deals and beautiful options here in Georgia.

This past weekend I attended my cousin's wedding in Jacksonville, Florida. I was going to purchase something online, but I was afraid it would not fit right and it wouldn't come in time. I was just thinking negatively. ( I have to work on that ) I decided to stop by a new thrift store that was mentioned on this Facebook page that I am apart of. I browsed the racks and didn't notice anything right away. After a few minutes I went back to the formal dresses rack and found this beautiful dress that I could not pass up. I immediately tried it on and by the Grace of God, IT FIT!!!! I was going to cry. Not only did it fit, it was less than $10!!

Can you believe the dress was 8.90!!!!!!!!!!

Like shut up! I was so excited! I found the perfect dress, it was a little big on the hips, but other than that it fit like a glove. I purchased this dress at a place called Park Avenue Thrift in Marietta GA. I also purchased my small clutch purse for $2.50 at a local Goodwill and had the dress dry cleaned for $2.10. I'm writing this blog post to say this.. Stop getting persuaded by the people who talk down about thrifting. There are so many items that are in style that you can find at local thrift shop. It's okay to save money and use that money to travel more!  Everyone thought this dress was over $100 and I've never received that many compliments in my life. I felt beautiful and the whole wedding was perfect!  I also did the whole bridal parties makeup! My first experience ever! It was too hectic to take photos though. All in all, My goal is to get everyone on the thrifting wagon because there are so many gems to find at local thrift stores!

If you need any styling advice or if you would love for me to shop for you..Please email me below! I would love to be your personal shopper.

Check out some personal photos from the wedding.

Until next time,

Niqua Jeanette
